It was working perfetly for a few years and this year the first couple of times it worked fine, but consequently all of a sudden it wouldn't start. Changed the plug, still wont start. Took it to the Toro merchant and they gave it a tune up (cleaned the carb, replaced the started rope, still wont start. I took the plug out and connected the top of it to the electrical flex, sat it against the skipper of the engine and I can't see a spark. there is gas on the plug when I took it out of the engine so the primer is working. How do I find a good spark....similar to I said, I just replaced the plug. The snowblower is give or take a few 15yrs old!!!!Please lend a hand!!!!
Answers: You've flooded the engine. You might be overpriming it. Let it sit in a melt room for a few hours... overnight is best. While you're waiting, go carry a can of starting fluid... ether. Give it a shot of ether onto the air cleaner and start it generally. DO NOT use the starting fluid while it's running or if you're smoking; ether is serious stuff.
You might also want to demonstrate the problem to the guy who "fixed" it and get your money's worth out of him. These things can be a touch tempermental, so there's no harm within watching a "pro" get it started.
Well ... if you hold a screwdriver or other piece of metal within the plug wire and verbs the rope do you get a spark inside the plug chain? If you do then it's the plug ... if you don't after you have a problem any w/ the wire or the motor. I find it interesting that the shop cleaned UR carb but never started it to craft sure it works.
