Are SILESTONE kitchen countertops the best? sturdy? durable? easy to maintain??????????

i am in the process of re-modeling my whole kitchen , but my fiance and i are in a bind as to whether stainless steel or corian would be best to use??

he wants to go with the stainless steele countertops, cabints and appliances!!

i wamt something more homey, like creamy silestone or corian, accented with stainless steele cabinets and appliances.

BUT we just want something modern and durable.

i used to want white marble countertops until i read somewhee that they are easily stained etc....

thanks for any advice!!

Answers:
We re-did ourcountertops to a dark porcelean tile (actually close to black in color) and a platinum gray epoxy grout. Probably at a fifth of the price of granite (and granite wannabees like Silestone), this tile is incredibly durable. You can bang on it with a hammer. Of course, hot pots and pans right off the stove are not an issue.

And the new epoxy grout (available at Lowes) never needs sealing.

Maintenance free and super-durable. We found the tile at a tile and flooring store. The selection at Lowes was too limiting.

Good luck.
