How can I repair my lawnmower after I ovefilled it with oil, it's smoking out the exhaust?

Answers:
REMOVE the excess oil before you run it any more or you could damage your motor. Drain plug removal or tipping it on it's side are both easy and painless but buying a new mower sucks.

Other answers:
Pull the drain plug and remove some of the oil. It will continue to burn and smoke out of the exhaust until it is all gone. This smoking doesn't hurt anything but your lungs!

did you spill any oil on the mower? Drain some of the oil out of it. It should be ok
Try pouring out the excess oil and clean up the oil that leaked and see if it works after that... The same thing happend to me and that fixed it. Good luck!!
empty over filled oil in mower , refill and watch your dip stick till oil is in safe range, excess oil in cylinder head will smoke for a little bite, then clear up if you watch and not over fill again
If you don't want to go through the hassle of removing the drain plug to get the excess oil out a turkey baster works pretty good.
From many times hearing and seeing this..... a little too much will just cause the breather to pump oil into the carb, and cover the paper air filter (if its paper, replace it if its oil soaked). Just drain till its to the full mark.... WAY too full, like to the top.... could break the rings if it even got started.
