Connect Toilet to Cast Iron Pipe?

I have a standard UK Toilet which have a plastic waste connector which later goes into the inspired house cast iron stink pipe, when I plumbed it surrounded by, the plastic pipe fitted and I filled the classify with silicon.

However 6 months next it has started leak, I do not understand why as nought has be moved.

But I was wondering does anyone know the best opening to deal near this problem?

I cannot replace the cast pipe as it go right up through the house and the toilet is new, but I can own a go at anything else.

Thanks.

Answers:    Buy a 4 inch drain connector from a plumbers merchant and fit this into the classify iron pipe and then fit the toilet jar connector. Cast iron pipe joints be made using tar and hemp, or somtims have lead poured into the pooled and hammered it down beside a special tool, then more head again. Smear liquid soap on the jar connector to help it slide into the fitting easier.
