Is there a way to save a peony that has accidentally been sprayed with herbicide?

My son accidentally sprayed a few extra plants with a Dandelion & Clover killer and one of our prized peonys isn't feeling so well.

I have a sprinkler raining directly on the little guy.

I wouldn't think so.
If it was sprayed with 2,4-D, or one of its cousins, the shoots will get thick and start to twist. The cell wall loosening process has started and there is nothing you can do. If it was a Round-up type herbicide, the phloem unloading process will stop and eventually so will photosynthesis.Either way, I think it is dead.
