If you don't know already, then don't bother. Leave it up to someone who has the equipment and knows how.
best to drill a pilot hole and jigsaw out a circle.
If you don't have a saber saw take a small (1/4" or so) and make a circle on the wall. Then drill holes around the circle enough that you can knockout the center then smoothe with a rasp or file.. be sure and lookout for wiring and wall studs.
U can buy the hole cutter at any carpentry store. Just give the dimension and they will provide u with the tool
do you have an 8" circular cutter? if not, try marking off where you want to cut the hole, and mark the center of the hole, the 4" mark, use some string and a pencil to draw out the pattern you want to remove. If you do not have a 8" hole cutter, you could try a spiral cut saw, like a roto-zip, i.e home depot run. Good luck.
There are 2 ways.

1: You can buy a circular saw that fits on an electric drill.
If you don't know what a circular saw is, imagine a large washer with teeth on it like a saw. It has an attachment in the centre which you fix into your electric drill.

However, you may not be able to buy one large enough. There are a few around but the local DIY shop probably won't stock them.

2: This is the usual way.
Draw your 8" circle on the wall (draw it round a plate - whatever) and with your electric drill, drill holes all the way round, very close to each other.

After that it's easy, tap it with a hammer and if you have drilled the holes close enough to each other it should pop out in no time.
If it won't, join the holes up using a narrow chisel.

And there you are!
I doubt you will be able to find a hole saw that size. If you did, it would be expensive, used probably only on this job, and be difficult to handle.

I would put a nail in the center of where you want the fan and use this point as the center of your circle. You could tie a 4" string around the nail and draw a circle around it. Then scribe the wall board, or what ever finished surface you are working with, with a utility knife. Cut through one side (one rooms wall) with skill saw or reciprocating saw. Then transfer the location to the other rooms wall, through the wall.

Make certain you do not have any electrical wires where you want the fan. Also, you should try to be between the wall studs, but not centered between them. I think you should be adjacent to one stud, on either the left or right side, so you have some solid structure to mount the fan / duct work to.

Cut the holes a neatly as possible, unless you have a large flange or trim piece to conceal the wall board. If you do not, use a file or rasp to clean-up the circle.

Didn't the fan come with instructions?

Good luck
An 8" hole saw would be really expensive even if there is such a thing, It would be better to hire someone that has the skill, ie, tools if you do not think you can do it yourself with a jigsaw..
Make sure there are no wires, plumbing, or a stud in your location first! With a long 1/8" bit drill a pilot hole in exact center of the location through the entire wall, mark the wall with a template, compass, caliper, or string with a pencil and a nail tied to it can be rotated to draw the circle. Do this on both sides of the wall. Now cut holes with a jigsaw, sawzall, or Roto-Zip tool with the proper bit or blade. Do one side at a time and the holes should line up exactly.
FIRST, I REPEAT, FIRST MAKE SURE THERE ARE NO, WIRES, PIPES, STUDS, ETC. IN THE AREA YOU ARE GOING TO CUT.

Second, mark out the circle, buy a $1.99 drywall saw at Home Depot, etc. and cut the hole.

Good luck,
