Is there a method to avoid the mirror in the bathroom from getting foggy due to steam?

I am not able to use the mirror while bathing as it gets foggy due to steam while bathing. I have tried rubbing dry soap or applying oil on the mirror before starting the shower. But it is of no use.

Answers:
Saving cream. It really works.

ive seen commercial products advertised for that but never tried them , call a glass and mirror shop and see if they know.

try wiping a handful of shaving creme on it, wiping it off, then using paper towels to shine it.
Take some shaving cream and clean the mirror with it.
I think Rain-X makes an anti-fogging product. I've seen it in automotive departments in WalMart. You could even check AutoZone or something like that. Not sure if it works, but it might. I know that people that play paintball put some kind of anti-fogging treatment inside their masks so it doesn't fog up while playing. Same kinda stuff.
You don't have a vent in your bathroom? Maybe you should put one in...all that humidity is very bad for the structure of the home.
Bath or shower in cold water.
Good ventilation will cause less foggy. But there is a special mirror where they claim that the mirror will not get foggy due to steam. These mirror are coated with special chemical or so.
I have a suggestion you may wipe the mirror , add few drops of kerosene with a pail of water and wipe it. There will be no foggy but the water will slide down.
we use this method for car windscreen and it works.
They make a spray that prevents the fog from "sticking" or I guess you could run it under cooler water when you need to use it. Other than that I have nothing. Good luck.
I open the door of my medicine cabinet/mirror and drape a towel over it. works well for me
I'm with the people that say to wipe shaving cream on it. I haven't tried it personally, but it was recommended once on an episode of "How Clean Is Your House?"
I agree with the majority of the answers here. shaving cream works! I seen it done on the tv show "How clean is your house?" and I tried it, it works. I have to use the shaving cream about once a week to keep it clear.
