Is it acceptable to use galvanize steel pipe for gas use?

Answers:
Go down to City Hall to pull permit and ask "what does local code call for on pipe" Galvi will flake off over time and plug orifice at H2o heater, home heater, stove, ovens and barb-b-q outlets. Cali code is black pipe and secure it every 12"-18" along pipe. No pipe movement to cause leaks and in kids toys at local drug store. Buy a bottle of bubble blowers and a 1" paint brush. Use generously on every joint and fitting. If it bubbles there is a leak. Gas is low pressure. So check on pipe size required. Gas is volume. Takes time to fill pipes. Inspection you need a air gage at end showing it held pressure, I think 24 hr period. Code inforcement will let you know. Be safe

Do not take a chance with this. Call your gas company.
No, I would use black iron. That is what I use everyday in these new homes. I'm a pluber. Good luck.
NO. The galvanizing may flake off and plug stuff up. Or in the worst case scenario leak gas!!
