why do tolites make that loud noise when you flush them?

why cant they just be quiet?!?

Answers:
Some of the newer commodes have a POWER flush.... uses less water......pushes everything down the first flush..... lots of commercial establishments use them......for this reason...

You can recognize this type of commode easily .... It has a capitve air cylinder inside to the tank.....not a regular float like most commodes......

So the extra noise goes along with a better but noisier flush!

Not all toilets do, depends on the mechanism and quality of the design. The sounds is the water getting pushed over the trap and sucking things down.

Those that arent cheap are more quiet. It sounds like that because the water's going down
The loud noise at the end is the toilet sucking air. The water level rises until water is pushed through the trap, creating a siphon. The siphon will suck until air is introduced. The loud noise at the end is air being sucked in a breaking the siphon.
