I have a glass unit heater/AC within my apartment. However, my smoke alarm turns on within minutes of me turning on my heating system. The AC works fine on the same element, just "boil mode" sets off the alarm. Any suggestions? I asked my apartment but they're taking forever, so I thought I'd come here...
Answers: The dust and lint build-up on the coils are heated, dryed and whiffed into the airstream. Clean and vacuum the unit, beforehand heat is required seasonal sage.
Is it a smoke alarm or carbon monoxide alarm? If the latter DON"T run it. You need to replace it or you may die from the silent hired gun.
