Anyone have any good ideas for getting rid of gophers? Already tried the smoke bomb.?
Answers:
I used the two pronged attack. First, I baited their little tunnels with poison peanuts. They smell them and want a tasty poisonous treat. Then I bomb them out with the smokers. You have to be vigilant and do it a couple times a week. They have very long tunnels and can retreat into them once they smell the sulfur of the bomb. You have to draw them out with the peanuts. Every now and again I treat again, but I honestly haven't seen their activity in the two years since I waged war on them. I know they are still lurking in the area though because my neighbors a few doors down are letting their hillside become the big dig. After you are fairly certain that they are dead or have moved on, flood their tunnels with a hose now and again. The water collapses the tunnels and makes them less likely to return.

I heard chocolate works and a small transistor radio down the hole with radical music playing will run them off. I never had to try it yet. I don't remember where I heard this.
road flares stick them down the hole and seal the openings or water just stick the hose in th hole and watch for them to come and whack them.they will have 2 or 3 exits
instant dried potato flakes ....they love em and then they need to seek water and the flakes expand and they blow up
My neighbor seals off all the holes except one and pours several gallons diesel fuel down the hole and throws a firecracker down the hole..The hole looks like a flamethrower when he does it..
Most dogs love to dig up gophers and kill em.
Greets....
On the orchard we used Gopher Mix..... a bit like granola but bright green (cause it is poison!)
One shovels down thru to a gallery, puts a tablespoon down each end and back fills.
(Then find the dead ones and send em to the guy that wants to eat em.)
Hardware stores carry this product and any Grange store, and it will do the trick.....we managed a lil 50 acre orchard with it.
Take care
