How do I fix my ceiling fan? Light works, fan doesn't. Already replaced switch.?
Answers:
New ceilibg fans can be as low as $15 and as much as you are willing to spend. The odds of it being your wiring are almost non-existent. Their is a electronic speed regulator that most often burns out, and then there is the pull switch which never lasts very long. Depending on your level of electrical experience it would probably be easier to just replace it. The newer fans are so easy to assemble and install that with a little effort you could have a new one up in 30 minutes yourself.

Sounds like fan motor is bad.
Replace it,it will be cheaper than fixing motor. You can buy one for $100 or less.

check the wiring in the fan,, mayby came loose.. is it remote controlled?? can you spin the blades easily?? if not the motor is froze up,, time for a new one
Like Fuzz says, check the wiring. This is especially important if you have aluminum wiring in your house. Over time it works loose and will open the circuit.
If the wiring's OK and you have voltage going to the motor, try turning the fan on and see if the motor hums. If it does and the blades won't turn, time for another fan. It's cheaper that way.
CHEAPEST - Check to make sure hot and neutral to fan is not loose. cheaper- check pull switch to see if bad(bypass switch, if fan works switch is bad. Cheap if fan and light fed on separate switches make sure switch to fan has hot an neutral. Not cheap replace fan.
