Can I reaplace my own very well Pump?

I live in an nouns that is experiencing a drought right presently. My electric well pump is making more clamour now than it used to. I have a sneaking suspicion that I might have to replace the pump and motor sooner or latter. Is that a job I can do on my own?

More details: I suggest the pump is about 12 years behind the times. It's a Sta-Rite brand pump... one horsepower pump (Model MSE 6)
The pump sits upright, right on the wellhead and the merely pipe I can see above ground is a PVC pipe of about 2 1/4" outside diameter.

Can I face this on my own, or do I need to name a well guy?

Thanks surrounded by advance.
