Weed Eater runs for 3-5 minutes, then quits and won't start for awhile?

Dam it I know the word I am looking for but can't think of it. Anyway it's could be the exhaust out let. There a word it's called because had training on chain saws. Any again check that it could be plug.
Also you are using regular gas not high octane or the new E10 or E85. That will also stop it from running. Plus right mixer of oil for your weed eater. Our weed eaters and chain saws at work we use the oil that we get to 2 gallons of gas. Some older weed eaters use 1 to 1 gallon of gas. Oil comes in little bottles. 50 to 1
Also don't do what some people do mix the oil a little at a time. You never get it right. Mix it all at once.

Check the spark plug, and spark plug wire.
Check the spark plug, and spark plug wire.
maybe its too old time to buy a new one?..?..?
Buy you a new weed eater
OLD GAS
GAS CANNOT BE LEFT IN THE TANK
AND GAS IN THE CAN HAS TO BE USED IN A MONTH
A few suggestions.
1.) Go to manufacturer's website and see what they recommend.
2.) Are you running new/recent gas in it?
3.) Have you cleaned the spark plug (wire brush or sand paper)? Checked its gap?
Is the shaft bent at all? That happened to me once; had my son straighten it out and it worked fine!
From what I read I think you are better qualified to answer your own question than I am. You will get it!
There may be crud in the carburetor that got sucked into it during operation. Check the gas line to make sure there are no leaks and make sure you're using the proper mixture of gas/oil
change the spark plug. It is the cheapest thing to try first. It may be getting hot and fouling out. If it is vapor locking then cleaning the breather on the gas cap should have helped. Also, check that your gas line is not rotten. Sometimes they break down from the inside out and can cause a clog in your gas line. Good Luck !!
Sounds like it may be getting too hot.
Are all the air\breather\cooling fins clean?
if it gets too hot, the ignition coil will fail untill it cools off.
OK,weed eater wizard, check and make sure your on the right setting to start,if it's equipped with a primer bubble make sure it's full and not leaking try that,if that don't work check your spark plug and wire,if u pull your plug and it's wet, your giving it to much gas, next make sure the top of the spark plug is tight the little silver tit on top of the plug ,next make sure your gas and oil mixture is right if it smoke's to much u got to much oil it should come with mixing instruction's give that a try if it still don't work look at the cable going to your carb good luck. if that don't work e-mail me Will get that sucker going.
My guess would be Vaperlock, but it could also be the coil they do wear out and need replaced first check the gas cap make sure its clean. In side so it can breath and then I would have coil checked by a qualified small engine mechanic.May need a new one.and I would check the gap on the armature & flywheel to see if it's gapped right. i gap mine with news paper rip a small piece about 2 inch's wide & 4 inch's long.double the paper over make a tight crease and loosen up the armature slip paper in there between flywheel & armature where it wraps around flywheel push armature back aginst flywheel then tighten back up put together good luck ....
