My bathroom faucet is leaking from the bottom; from the hole where the rod comes out that closes the sinkdrain

Unscrew it and tighten it back on ... sometimes they come loose and leak.

That's drain water. Your knurled nut may be loose or you may need a new rod, the ball is molded on. Take it apart and look at it. If it looks worn out take it with you to get a good match.
