Can a curling iron that is to say gone on start a fire?

I have one of the Conair curling irons ( that hold multiple heat settings ) I'm paranoid that I may own forgotten to unplug the curling iron this morning.. and just wondering if it could draw from hot enough to start a fire? I moved out is resting on the bathroom counter possibly left plugged into a GFCI outlet..

It's not implicit any items that are flammable, like a towel or anything.. it's freshly next to the blow dryer to be exact unplugged... Please help within easing my paranias!

Answers:    No it will just pop your GFCI outlet, when you catch home you wont have power to the outlet a moment ago hit the reset button and then you will own juice.
Don't worry- I give mt straightener on all the time, if its a newer model- it may hold a shut off apparatus after 90 minutes. If it still has the little metal entry that doesn't let the iron touch the counter don't verbs, otherwise it may leave a speck on the counter. But you should be ok, as long as its not near anything flammable.
hope this help!
