Exploding lightbulbs? Any electricians know why?

Right, nearly had a heart attack again this morning! Yesterday i go to change a lightbulb on a wall light and as the bulb touched the socket it exploded, the whole house go out and had to flick the switch on my fusebox. This morning when i turned on my kitchen pallid the glass exploded everywhere disappearing the base of the bulb still contained by the socket, had to flick the fuse switch again. What could be cause this too happen adjectives of a sudden? Thanks very much within advance for any information.

Answers:    As one personage has said already it could be as simple as a out of order bulbs or cheap bulbs. If you are in the UK manufacture sure you purchase decent bulbs as the purchase of cheap bulbs make for false economy if they are blowing adjectives the time.

Make sure your electric is off to the wispy switch before ever shifting a bulb.

I had a similar vproblem and it be down to a short circuit caused by a hugely tiny mouse in my loft which have chewed through the cable. Lucky we didn't have a fire.

If i be you I would ere on the side of caution and seize a qualified electrician to have a look.
I've have this happen to me and discovered that in that was a soak above the light fixture. It turned out that precipitation water have been seep into the light fixture until the cover be filled up next to water. I didn't see it until I turned on that lighting and the bulb popped.
