How do I replace a Thermal Expansion Valve on a home Air Conditioning unit.?

I'm trying to replace the Thermal Expansion Valve on my Home A/C unit. I'd like some help in knowing the steps it takes to replace this valve. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First you will have to pump all of the refrigerant into the compressor or evacuate the system.

You will need the following tools:
Vaccuum Pump
Refrigerant Gauges and Hoses
flaring tool or tubing cutter and torch and solder

*** Take your allen wrench and shut the valve on the liquid line. Watch your gauges and when it is done shut off the suction side and kill the power.
