How can I attain my pane un-stuck?

I live in a house that's approximately 100 years behind the times and has the pass¨¦ vertical sliding windows. This summer, I open a window that I have never opened until that time. Now, I can't get it put a bet on down.

I thought that it has something to do beside humidity, but after trying to shut it on both humid days and days with humidities of as low as 39%, I'm losing principle in that opinion.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? Winters are cold here!

Answers:    There are two strips of wood on each side of the windowpane, called stops. Carefully pry these stale and clean up the track, should give a hand dramatically. Be careful, the porthole sash will be loose and can fall out, should be attached to the counter stability ropes. Apply some parafin wax in the fanlight track to lubricate it.
try grease,oil, or conceivably even butter!!!!! expirement!!!
