How do I repair a hole in a hollowcore door?

The door is a really cheap painted hollowcore door and it has a hole through one side about the size of a baseball from someone's head in a drunken wrestling match. I just need to know how to repair the door without replacing it.

Answers:
your work time and the laminate will cost more than finding a place which has hollow doors. You can get a slab door from Home Depot for about 20 bucks--it will look better too

Here's a sugestion:

get a piece of paneling about three times as big as the hole, the same thickness as the original door panelling.

Cut the edges of the hole so they're a neat and straight rectangle.

Cut out a piece of the paneling at least 1" larger than the hole, but which will fit through it if it's turned.

cut another rectangle to fit the hole as close as you can.

drill a small hole through both big enough for a wire.

tie a wire around a stick and put the wire through both holes. Tie another stick bigger than the hole to the wire about 2-3 inches from the smaller panel.

put the glue on the whole surface of the larger panel and put it through the hole, turn it to keep it inside the door. Line up the small panel on the hole and bring it into place. tighten the wire on the outside stick until everything is snug.

Wait for the glue to dry. cut the wire, remove the outside stick, and spackle the small wire hole and the crack around the patch.

Paint.

Cost: some small scraps, spackle, and paint.
Looks: not perfect, but better than a drunken brawler deserves.

Get a real door. They don't get holes in em.
the same way you would fix a whole in a wall put some putty over a patch. you can buy them at a hardware store
Don't bother...hang a full size mirror up. Your parents/landlord will never know.
It can be done with duct tape and a 2x4
