Installing a ceiling aficionado?

I've replaced a light fixture next to a ceiling fan surrounded by my bedroom. The fan cog of the works fine, but the light chunk isn't working. Is this due to old electric wiring (the house was built within the 40's) that doesn't have the watts/amps to power the topical fixture? What can I do about this? Is it a peril in anyway?

Answers:    You have need of to recheck the wiring.Pay close attention to the blue chain on your fan/light fixture to be sure it is hooked up properly
You should go put a bet on and recheck your wiring. Another article, not to be a wise guy, did you check the bulb? More than potential one of your wires isn't connected very in good health and that's the problem. Good luck.
You haven't hooked it up properly. you need to follow the instructions that come beside the fan. It will explain how to hook up a clean fan next to old electrics. The fact that you hold one switch to operate the entire unit you could in recent times hook up the "light wire" surrounded by the fan to the hot line off of the switch. Also some newer fan come with a remote control the remote control may be sour or not hooked up correctly which would also cause this problem.
