My kenmore 106 model side by side is not making ice. Can anyone tell me how to troubleshoot the problem?

First thing to try, is make sure that the lever, over the ice maker, is in the down position, thats a safety feature, and when you take the ice out, maybe someone forgot to put it back down. Check to see if the water line going to your freezer, is not leaking, and check to see if it is turned on. Another thing to check, is take the front cover off, at the bottom of the freezer, and clean the dirt, from under the freezer. That can build up pretty fast, and will throw the thermostat off. Other than that, cannot think of anything else..

We had the same problem, it was our water line it was clogged. We squirted the line with an air hose.
