I had a service on the boiler more or less three months ago and had to telephone them back as the hose was not running hot on my combi boiler. The reprimand was rectify by cleaning the internals of the heat exchanger near acid. Would this be done during a service as I am very soon being expected to compensate over 60 pounds for this. Any help would be appreciated
Answers: Its only bad luck i'm afraid,whoever is doing the repairs for you is not trying to rip you sour as they could have charged abundantly lot more.
Acid flushing of a heat exchanger is not member of a service. lb60 for an acid flush is cheap, no gas job are cheap. Average boiler service costs lb75.
