What type of bulb have a wattage slighter than 60 but doesn't seize hot?
Answers: Use a "compact fluorescent" bulb of almost 25 watts or less that uses an incandescent socket. Fluorescent bulbs administer off alot smaller number heat. They'll still roast a bit, but it's always alot smaller number than an incandescent bulb.

Get one of the coiled flourescent bulbs they sell presently. Doesn't get as hot. Buy one of a lower wattage.
Compact fluorescent. They come within various wattages as do standard bulbs. I've see them at a local "dollar" store for a dollar each. They go and get warm, but nowhere close at hand as hot as a standard incandescent. Or, if you do not like the blue-white color of the fluorescent, you can try a 40 watt "appliance" bulb, the giving used in refrigerators and ovens. An appliance bulb is a smaller physical size than a standard 40 watt incandescent bulb. Or as a 3rd alternative, I've see compact flood lights, 25 and 40 watts, with a reflector which are merely a physically smaller version of a standard floodlight but short the big heavy lens the standard size have. The reflector 40 watt will run cooler than an appliance 40 watt, the 25 watt even cooler still and the reflector will direct the light somewhat. Check out your local big box hardware store and I am sure you find these alternatives and more. I use a 25 watt reflector within place of a standard 60 watt in my desk light and it works perfectly contained by the same carriage as you want.

40 watt. It will be cooler than a 60 watt of the same type. A compact florescent will be exceptionally cool if it will fit.
