What have be your experience near tub reglazing?
Answers: I've had a LOT of experience next to this. Reglazing can work well however tons times is doesn't. It works great on a house your flipping because it looks great for awhile no matter what. The problem is it take a lot of prep work to get hold of a finish that will last a long time. Many times the reglazing will switch on to chip and crack after only a few months because of poor prep work, especially around the drain nouns. Then trying to get the contractor posterior to redo it isn't straightforward and he probably won't do any better at it the second time. But I have see contractors spend several hours removing the drain and other hardware to make sure it be done right.
So I guess it's like any other remodeling project, you steal a risk unless you know the contractor. Why not get a couple of estimates and after visit a plumbing supply house and see what the brand new tubs have to bestow then build a decision? Good luck...
you can buy a product ,from lowes, to re finish your tub,
buy the spray can, product,
it works buy mixing up two spray can , you need to read and take to mean ,the product ,
first ,lightly sand your tub, valet it out, and dry it ,
then spray it , rob about 10 mins to spray , two feathery coats are better than one big one , great looking tub , after wards,
if you hire a pro , it will cost nearly $400 to $500 to re due it
I had one reglazed just about 15 yrs ago. That house was built surrounded by the 50s also. I don't remember what we paid the guy but the finish be fantastic. Looked brand new.
Joe is right to some extent and the other one near the spray cans, I've never hear of that.
I've re glazed more then a few tubs, it's a event of what you want to put into it. If your looking at a long term finish and you own kids, you want something that's going to last, buy a up to date tub.
If your looking at saving some money, you don't mind the work and you enjoy Patience, do it yourself but, it's a lot of work.
Buy the apparatus at Home Depot, if you have gouge in the tub, you'll hold to get a small fiberglass tackle also.
It cost $35.00 and takes a few days near the drying so, here's where the leniency comes in.
I don't know what they charge to enjoy it done, I've never done this. I think I would buy a topical tub first.
