Removing oil from my book?

I accidentally spilled vegetable oil on my hardcover book. It soaked into the dust cover and into the cover. Is there any way I can remove it? Would vinegar work?

Answers:
Corn starch absorbs oil ~ this will also work for oil based stains in carpeting and on clothing.

I am not certain how well the corn starch will remove the oil from a book cover though ~ worth the try.

I think the damage is irreprable. I've done it too (I was reading and cooking at the same time ... not smart) and it makes for unpleasant reading.
try sprinkling some flour or baking soda on it and leave it over night. this is just a suggestion dont know if it will work. ps good luck.
