A/C unit is dripping water.?

If this water is coming from overhead, your main drain may be stopped up, and the drain on the aux. drainpan is handling the overflow. This is only if your unit is located in the attic. However, it is unusual to run the condensate drain to drain onto a porch. This is usually done to attract attention, as it is a slipping hazard. You should check the main drain since you never noticed this happening before, and clean it if needed

They all drip. As you said, it is condensation. The amount does depend on the humidity.

I have the same problem. When the temperature rises and the humidity rises, the AC pulls the moisture from the air to make it cool in your home. So on cooler days, it wont drip as much or at all, and on really hot days, it will drip like a running faucet.
Actually...thats how A/C works....by condensing the moisture out of the air that passes over the A coil.
The more humid it is....the more moisture its going to pull out of the air.
I routed the drain pipe over to my rose bushes on the side of my house...the constant stream of cold water has done wonders for them!!
Watch to make sure your not dropping the temp too low. After a lot of water it will freeze up on you.
it is normal, it means that it is pulling the humidity out of your house. an a/c unit has a coil of pipes in a part of the ducting. these pipes are chilled realy cold and the air is blown over the pipes. water condences on the pipes just like a cold drink.
That is perfectly normal if your a/c is working properly.
