Garage door Marley Quickfix 2000 spring unconnected. How to fix?
Answers:
If you look you will see a couple of set screws in the collar it connects to. You will also see a couple of holes in it. You will need to loosen the screws and insert a rod into the hole and turn it. Reconnect the spring befor you start. You will need two rods to do this. You have to turn it until you can get the second rod in the hole and proceed in this manner until you have it wound properly. Wind the spring in the opposite direction of the other spring. You also need to keep the wire winding on the spool properly. Actually it is much easier with the help of another person. Some springs will have paint marks. Turn it until the paint marks look similar in alignment to the other spring. Tighten the set screws and I mean TIGHT! BE VERY CAREFULL AND WEAR EYE PROTECTION AND GLOVES! DO NOT ALLOW CHILDREN AROUND WHEN DOING THIS! IF YOU SLIP THE ROD WILL FLY LIKE A MISSLE! If you have a light garage door such as fibreglass this may be an easy task but if your door is heavy you might consider calling a garage door repairman. Good luck! Have done many of these and they aint no treat!

You can rewind the spring to put the tension back but this is very dangeous. This is the one part of the garage door that can kill you. It is better to have a professional do this job.
Those springs have A LOT of tension when coiled, you could get seriously hurt if you do not know what you're doing. I'd urge you to contact a company that deals in garage doors and have them do it.
Not such a 'quickfix' after all then.
