Toilet dowstairs backup when I flush the toilet upstairs?

I just purchased a 2 story condo and moved contained by less than a week ago. It looked fine until yesterday when the toilet downstairs started overflowing and dirty dampen spilled all over the floor. I closed the shutoff spigot and plunged until all the toilet river was gone. Now this morning I notice that the floor was raining again and the toilet was adjectives dirty meaning that it overflowed again overnight. I purely noticed that when I flush the toilet upstairs river comes out of the toilet downstairs. Is this just a adjectives clog on the downstairs toilet that I may be able to fix next to a snake or is it something more serious that requires a plumber. If so should I be responsible for the expenses or is the condo HOA supposed to pay for this if the problem is within the pipes outside the house.

Answers:    it sounds to me that this is a main flash blockage. if it occurs outside your walls, later your hoa is responsible. I would contact them. However they dont always agree like lightning so good luck and name your plumber
You should have some sort of warranty on the condo for this sort of piece. Your waste strip is probably plugged requiring roto rooter services. You can try to snake it yourself if your up to it. You will have to investigate the vocabulary of any warranty or the agreement with the homeowners association. I myself am responsibly for my layabout water procession out to where it connects at the street.
