how do i get chewing gum off my carpet ?
Answers:
I'd try rubbing in some peanut butter first. If that doesn't work, contact a carpet store and ask if they can sell you a can of carbo-chlor (cleaning solvent & spot remover). It's real toxic stuff (avoid contact with skin), but it works well on a lot of stuff.

There is a spray product called "Lift-Off" you spray it on the gum and it hardens it in 5 minutes, then it is much easier to pull off with a small scraper. Schools use it all the time for gum under desks, lockers etc.
There is a hand-cleaning product called GOOP. It comes in a can and mechanics use it to clean the grease off their hands. It works great to take gum out of carpet and hair, too. I know about the hair thing from experience.
