Installed clean thermostat and furnace doesn't turn on?

I installed a new thermostat Honeywell brand bought from home depot, replace a malfunctioning Honeywell I installed around six years ago, same wiring set up W, Y,G, RH. The nouns conditioning works but the heat will not turn on. Worked in good health before this.

The hanger-on turns on as well.

Could I enjoy damaged the furnace by not shutting sour the power before I installed the topical thermostat by allowing wire to touch briefly?

I'm going to put the old-fashioned thermostat back on and see if the steam comes on.

How can I turn on the furnace manually, crossing a few wires?

The furnace is 22 years old, not sure if its electric or gas. Looks electric to me, I use fluent gas to heat the home and for the stove.

RTH230B is the unmarked thermostat. The only difference contained by the wiring is that the red jersey wire between Rc and RH terminal must be used in 3-4 cable installation.

Okay so I crossed the red and white wires, and the furnace kicks on and the airs seem to be warm. So immediately what???
