The landlord is considering turning off the furnace for heat this summer. I have an infant child and the summers are not guaranteed warm in the state of Maine all year round so I am concerned about this. The apartment is also listed as heat & hot water included. Do I have a case to argue? There is no lease.

I recommend you purchase a plug-in heater for your baby's room, and for any other rooms you want to heat. I really like the oil filled ones. You plug them in and they heat up. They seem to be safer than the ones that blow hot air, but you would still need to treat them the same as a radiator because they get very hot. Keep your baby and items away.
