Recently bought a house that had a jacuzzi tub, in good condition. However when tub is turned on black specks come out. I think this may be a common problem from teh little research I have done. Any suggestions?

use a detergent made for dish washers,, not bleach! the bleach will rot the plastic parts!! run the soap for 10-15 minutes and remove,, put clean water and rinse,, while it is rinseing see if there are still flakes and repeat if necessary!!

Its mold or algae in the jets. Its a natural buildup. Jacuzzi sells a additive to get rid of it. Check it out online.
You can also try a hot water and bleach mixture
It is mold.
When not in use, before use fill / rise pipe with a bleach solution.
Let the water clean the pipes by running it.
