stainless steel cup lid just won't come stale. any suggestions?

Answers:    Try running hot water on the lid and cold river on the bottle itself. The difference in expansion and contraction should be adequate to break the seal and allow the lid to be turned.
use WD40 and mode of bang it against the point of a cabinet.
go to the hardware store and go and get a strap wrench. plumbers use them to tighten and loosen connections. it won't scratch but it will tender you good leverage and a well brought-up grip.
run it under the hot slap, then use a cloth to undo it so you don't burn yourself.
I bang them on the bottom of the top cabinet. After about 2 or 3 right hits, just in the region of anything will open. But, human being that it is a vacuum most likely, running it underneath hot water first to expand the metal a bit will probably relieve.
1) Invert the bottle lid into a dish of really hot water-- count to 10-- bring upright-- dry top-- wrap rubber glove around and twist.
2) after drying-- rap lid considerately on counter edge-- twist
3) whip back of solid knife-- rap cap within the direction the twist will go-- verbs

I keep strong rubber gloves just because it's so irritating!
There is a antiquated metal bottle opener surrounded by flea markets-- the grabber slides along a double wire piece for sizing-- works exceedingly well.

The other suggestions are good.

If those STILL don't work, hold the jar contained by right hand, top contained by left. But beside elbows out in front of you. Now you can use strong pay for muscles to open it, bringing the elbows contained by and back.

If someone else say they loosened it. I crank it back tight, right over moved out, and let them try again. Then I start it again. Great fun when their arms are 4 times bigger than mine..
