A 10 –f t ladder is partiality against a wall. If the top of the ladder slips down the wall at the rate of 2- ft/sec, how speedily will the foot be moving away from the wall when the top is 6 ft above the ground?

Answers:    2 seconds.........if the stepladder still has 6 ft to progress then the stepladder has just moved 4 ft (10-6). For every 2 ft = 1 sec.
