The motor may have been shorted out. I wouldn't count on it working. If it was shorted out, nothing will happen when you plug it in and turn it on.

i am sorry that you had to go through that first of all. and i don't think it will still work. you are probably better off just getting a new one. if it can be fixed it will cost you more to have it fixed than it would to just buy a new one. unfortunately, that's how things are today. it's cheaper to buy new than to fix what we have.
