My refrigerator has started making a frog sound, help?
Answers:
I had the same thing happen to me once. I think it is a fan in your freezer. Mine sounded more like a puppy barking. I opened up the freezer, and unscrewed the inside compartment (the back inside wall of the freezer) and behind it, there was a fan that was spinning, then stopping, spinning, then stopping, thus making the noise. I sprayed the bearings of the fan with a bunch of WD-40, and it quit making noise, although I would suggest using some sort of grease for moving parts rather then wd-40, as it would probably last longer.

Dead/dieing compressor...
Just enjoy it. I love listening to the noises my fridge makes late at night when all else is silent.
When you say frog sound, can you try to write out the particular sound it's making. Does just let out the occasional solitary "gribbit", or does it repeat the sound in sequence?
that's the sound of compressor running... it automatically stops when the thermostat senses that there's enough temp inside the contained space...
It may need a major cleaning. Possible Ice Maker problems if you have one.
There is an air circulating fan in the freezer that pushes cold air into the refrigerator area. The bearings go bad and it will make the sound you hear. The repairs consist of someone comeing in and replaceing it. The cost can be close to 200 dollars with the cost of the fan and labor. The unit needs to be defrosted to work on it. If you elect to have it fixed...Sears says it can fix any major appliance, but they are high. On the flip side, they come to your house and carry the parts.
Alternative, buy a used one thats proven a good one (Private party----look in the news paper for one.
If your a do it yourselfer and can get the trim out, you might (OIL) the bearings. That will shut it up for a while.
Don't forget to unplug it to reoil bearings, you can get shocked if it comes on. It's wired across the compressor circuit and runs when the compressor runs. ENUff for you?
Funny you should ask that question,my fridge freezer always makes a cow noise you would think theres a cow in the fridge its so funny you could be in the kitchen all of a sudden you would hear moooo.i know it sounds stupid but its true havent got a clue where it comes from.
