Can anybody explain why I get static shocks from my tv video when I touch them?

Answers:
I get them all the time - in fact I had to leave one job because the shocks from the photocopier kept sending me flying across the room (and there was nothing wrong with the copier we had it checked out about 10 times!)

Depending on the clothing/shoes you are wearing, a static charge can be built up in your body which reacts with the static charge from the tv etc.

Some people suggest it can be an indication that you are not drinking enough water, or that the air in your house/office is too dry.

Here's a link that tells you all about static shocks and how to avoid them Does anyone know about CARBON MINOXIDE detection? My alarms went off? How accurate are they?
