Electrical issue. A home inspection reported that a house is reccomended as have an upgrade to 100 amps...?

It says that it have 60 amp service and 100 amp main. I'm confused. What adjectives would it take to correct this problem and roughly how much would it cost? Thanks!

Answers:    your electrical draw is more than your house can safely touch.
consider an upgrade to 200 amp service. 750 -1000 for a good friend, to 2 dignified for a greed monger electrician.

you would also need to separate some receptacle and lights to divvy up the load.
as far as the cost go call an electrical contractor and go and get an estimate. the house currently has the potential to protect 60 amps of current, pretty small for some of todays modern equipment. the inspector would like to see a 100 amp entrance put within so there is no problem down the road as far as tripping breakers or blowing fuses. (i would never put surrounded by anything less than 200A myself)
