How to Convert USA 240V appliance to Asian 240V System?
I plan to take a GE array (Cooker) that requires a 240V power source in the USA to Asia that uses 240V power. My interview is how can I convert this range to Asian power system? In US, a 240V queue has two live wires (120V respectively - Red & Black) and one or two common wires (White). the two live lines are 180° out of phase. And the voltage difference between the two phases are 240V(+120 & -120). In Asia within is one live wire (Red) and one impartial wire (Black) and may or may not enjoy a ground. And the voltage between live and neutral wires are 240V.
The variety needs min. 5000W power source.
I enjoy access to two 5000W step down transformers from 240V to 120V.
Now, if I connect these two transformers to Asian 240V power line surrounded by and connect the two 120V line outs from the transformers to respectively phases in the catalogue (Red & Black) and the two commons from the transformer out (White) to the common (White) contained by the range will it work?
Any give a hand & suggestions greatly appreciated.
Answers: I don't think you should use the transformers for a few reason!! You should connect direct to the 220/240 volt single phase, 2 wire system and the array will work fine. First you must find out if the system can supply 5Kw?? It may not be available, depends where you are going to be situated. The other possible problem is if your variety has an electronic clock or timer, it may not work beside the local frequency which will be 50Hz instead of the US 60Hz.
I would think it would be better to buy a cooker/oven in attendance, rather than transport a US model across.

i do not know whether it will work
but sure i know for some time you wont cook.
thieve care. if not you may blow up the cooker.
i have successfully blown up my coffee architect.
now i boil my coffee on the gas stove.
I would contact GE and inquire - they may hold a conversion for that unit. There may also be a " Cycles" difference that could do issues. US is 60 cycles, Euro is 50, etc.
