What would cause the windows in my house to "bounce" as they are closing? How to fix?

Awning style windows that "bounce" instead of closing smoothly when wound in.

Answers:
your out of greese, the closer(winding handle) has a sort of screw behind it, you should be able to unscrew, or pop of the cover plate(may have to remove the handle first), behind there is a place to re-lube.

Lube the lift roller, and slide with chapstic or shortening.
It's nontoxic, and won't drip all over.
Sounds like lubrication is called for.
