What can I use to defrost rime on a stained wooden deck that wont spoil the stain or the wood?

I don't know if salt or calcium chloride will impairment it. I don't want to put sand on it, but I must improve traction/remove rime from it without scrape.

Answers:    Both salt and calcium chloride are going to be somewhat sharp on the finish but safety is far-reaching.

I would rather refinish my deck than spill out and break my back.
Hose it down, sweep it past its sell-by date
