Help!My toddler shoved a loo roll down the toilet and now its blocked!!any ideas?I?
Answers:
Try using a plumber's snake to push it through.
Other answers:
Keep topping the toilet bowl up with water and in time the loo roll will dissolve, and gravity will do the trick.
The alternative is to get some rods yourself from the local B & Q and have a go yourself (If you can access the pipes outside).

Wire coat hanger, That'll sort it. I have done it many times in the past, just untwist the top and juggle it down there
Get a wire coathanger, cut it next to the hook so you have a hook on a long bent bit of wire. Get a bucket for the bits and a pair of rubber gloves and see if you can hook it out, bit by bit if you have to.
And thank your lucky stars it wasn't your handbag!
Phone your local council or water board. they may take pity on you......
Otherwise can you borrow or beg drain rods or a plumbers auger? Eventually the paper will disintergrate (that's what it is meant to do) but it may take a while - and if you have a partial block or kinked pipe furthr along it may block again.
Can you claim on your insurance????
keep putting bleach and hot water into the toilet bowl and it will slowly shift the blockage
Maybe pouring a lot of bleach down and leaving it overnight may help break it up.
Good Luck
Get a decint plumber with all included!
There are snakes that you can get at a hardware store that can grab things and pull them out.
Some plumbers want things to be expensive so they can charge more. IF the snake doesnt work try a different plumber.
Attach said coathanger to your toddler.
He'll not only learn just how long he can hold his breath for, but also that shovin loo roll down the toilet really ruins his day!
Toilet paper is biodegradable. In otherwords it will disintergrate. It's not as bad as if the whole roll went down intact, it should soon start to break up. just cross your legs for a while!!!
try plunging it with an odl mop and it should force it through
rthe very same thing happened to us a few months ago and my hubby is an odd job man, we did it a few times and then it just went through
tell yer toddler to reach in there and get it out...All you need its a snake..have the plumber snake it out.
Hi, if you keep the sucttion going then it should eventually get the toilet roll moving and you might be able to get it out. The only other way is to see if you can get your hand in and pull it out, it will be fine if you have some rubber gloves on, you can also use the coat hanger trick as you will get it further using your hand and the coat hanger. Just keep the water moving and flushing, i no its a pain in the but, but it should move eventually.
try a plunger, there great at shiffting things.
Drain Rods are for drains, not Toilets, they do not bend enough.
A plumbers snake is a coil of metal that will bend around the u-bend and you can prod the paper till it goes.
The snake may scratch the bottom of the bowl, so if you can put a bit of plastic there to stop it getting scratched, else the scratches will get unsightly with age; just don't let the plastic slip round the bend.
Best of luck, and remember to wear gloves.
get a wire coat hanger and put it down keep twisting it until it all breaks away
For starters, If you have a 'Close Coupled Flush' (the tank sits on the toilet pan) remove the tank. In the case of either a Close coupled flush, or Low Level Flush(short piece of pipe from tank to pan) remove the pan...4 large woodscrews. this may enable you to see the roll, it may still be in the pan, if not, it should not be far. Then, if its in the pipe, use one of those flexy sani-snakes (diy store) to break it apart.Try not to plunge it further down....
After three days I would hope that it is clear now it's a long time not going to the loo.
Buy a bottle of caustic soda and throw it down the bowl. The caustic soda will disolve the toilet roll in about 2 hours and you'll be able to poo in confidence!
Caustic soda costs £1 in those cheap pound shops.
Good luck
