what could be making a drain slow in the tub?
Answers:
Clogs. Use a clog buster. You can get this at WalMart or Menards. It is a Co2 canister which blows water against the clog to break it free.
If this doesn't work, buy a "snake" from Menards. It's gross but works!
Other answers:
hair. More drano.
hair. More drano.
Hair. More Draino and if it's still slow after the second treatment call a plumber to unclog it, otherwise it will eventually completely stop up.
Hair, and soap specially the oily types.
It's probably hair what else would it be. Buy more draino
hang cloth make loop on end and put inside drain to pull all hair at must this help more then drano
note loop be small 1/2 inch
Try pouring more drano down before you go to bed and inthe morning run very hot water down the drane.good luck.
we actually had the same thing happen and found out that the tub's pipes were connected to the bathroom sink, and even though the sink wasnt really having a problem, we poured draino down the sink and it helped the tub, you could try that.
Hair and soap scum. Try some more Drano or try to clean it out with a wire coat hanger with a small bent hook on the end (But not at the same time, that stuff can burn you). Whatever comes out of there won't be pretty though.
it could be hair, but very often the pipes may have a residue from the water, mineral build up which is causing it to narrow the opening for the water, try something that will remove some of the mineral deposits. Check your local plumber, but nothing very caustic or it will eat through the pipes.
Lowe's or Home Depot sells this "Zip it" a plastic strip with barbs, you shove it all the way down the drain, and pull it back out. No chemicals, no caustic stuff, no mess. Zip it and forget it.
