Can anyone help me get my washing machine out of "suds lock"? HELP!?

Ok, I admit it, I used too much detergent. Now it won't drain or spin at all. It just agitates, then just sits there. I tried scooping out almost all of the water (there's about 32 ounces still left in there that I can't get out) and it still won't do anything. I tried putting it back into rinse mode, it fills itself up again and agitates for the rinsing but then just sits there and won't drain or spin. I'm afraid of re-doing a whole new cycle for fear of the same thing happening and I will have to scoop out all of the water again. Anyone have any ideas?

Yikes...I had that problem... I switched mine off fromt the electric socket and restarted the whole wash.
You could wait until the minuite is up and open the machine and hold a bucket underneath to get rid of the soapy water and restart

Other answers:
If the suds are triggering an overflow switch just let it sit & when they dissipate it should begin working again.

When our control was messed up on our new Frigidaire frontloader, the salesman told me to unplug it and then plug it in again so it will reset the computer part. But, my machine didn't have any water in it and my problem was different: The machine just didn't work to start as it should have when I pulled the knob out.

That worked for my problem. I don't know if that will work for you.
If you add too much soap then add liquid fabric softener . It will desolve the soap. Take your clothes out and run it through another cycle, Make sure you leave the top closed. It won,t spin with the top open
Vinegar should help cut the sudz too.
Not knowing the make or model it is difficult to tell you exactly what to do but it most likely is not because of an over sudsing condition. If there were a lot of soap suds preventing the machine from draining they would dissipate in a few minutes and no longer be a problem unless they were agitated again. The most likely thing that is causing the problem is something stuck in the pump or the hose connected to the pump is blocked.
