Cedar Chips
check with your local hardware store
That's what I was going to say!
Buy some Febreze
If you have carpet in the bottom, put down some carpet fresh, vacuum and repeat. i also am a big fan of Dryer Fabric Sheets where ever you put clothes.
definitely febreeze, but also those car fresheners work. just wait awhile before putting them in or it will be over powering
FEBREEZE!!
That stuff is awsome.
Also, take everything out, vaccum, dust, and do all that stuff. It might just need that kind of freshening up.
Bleach and original pine sol. Put them both into a pail of water and mop the floor or the closet with it. Let it air dry and you will enjoy the smell of clean.
Cedar chips or cedar closet hangers. you can buy them at Lowe's
Home Depot sells cedar planks that hang on a hook or closet bar.
try to put air brick inside of your closet
Take everything out of the closet and either dry clean, it launder it, or give it away. If there's carpet on the floor, vacuum and shampoo it or take it out and put down lamanent (sp) hardwood, and paint the walls. Make sure you don't have any damp towels in a laundry basket in there. Guess your shoes could be a little offensive, too, but I don't know what to say about them. Good luck.
I would go to the store and get some ceder chips. The stores sell them where you get your hangers and clothespins. Hang it in your closet, it will give it a breath of freshness and protect from moths at the same time! It will also absorb damp odor. A 2-fer.
The alcohol in the perfume evaporates so that's why the odor doesn't stay long.
Air it out and find WHY it smells that way.....it might just be your old undies lying around or old tennis shoes?
fabreze
I thought my closets were dry too but the stale odor problem was actually dampness. There is a product called "Damp Rid" that you can get at Lowe's or Home Depot and even some grocery stores. You leave a container of this in your closet and every now and then empty out the water and add refill product. Works wonders! In addition to this a piece of cedar will help with keeping it smelling fresh. But do the damp rid because no amount of febreze will solve the underlying problem.
