is my electric bill too high?
Answers:
The average eclectric bill you should recieve is between 240 and 298 so no it is not too high, hope this resolves your question. And as well if you would like to lower it any, I suggest redoing your windows to control your heat, which also uses electricty and possibly some other routines as lower wattacge lightbulbs and turning your waterheater down a notch. :)

NOT FOR WHERE YOU LIVE, THAT WOULD BE REASONABLE TO ALOT OF PEOPLE. IF YOU THINK IT IS TOO HIGH, THINK ABOUT THINGS THAT DONT NEED TO BE RUNNING,SHUT OFF ROOMS YOU ARE NOT USING AND CLOSE THOSE VENTS MOST OF THE WAY.
Yeah that sounds a little high, my last appartment was 1600 sq. ft. and my bill was normally $170.
I lived in mesa for 18 years and the price has always gone up on the kilowatt hours during the summer. I lived in an apartment with 960 square ft and my bill usually ran anywhere from $150.00 to $175.00 and I kept my A/C at 75. But then I also ran my oven alot. I would guess that is close to being right. I would ask my neighbors and see what their bill is like. Hope this helps.
I live in a 70x16 mobile home in New Hampshire with ac & my bill Is $180 a month. In the winter between lights & heat I spend $382 a month. But the pool is probaly the reason your bill is high.
Check for leakages.
If it is a new house, you probably have neighbors with similar size houses. Check with them.
Also, open doors and windows are a big drain on the AC. Have kids going in and out etc.
One more thing to check in a new house, attic insulation. I the ceiling on the top floor feels warm, go up and check. Should be at least 12 inch of insulation.
I also live in Phoenix, and I think it is too high. I have a tri-level home about 2k sq ft. and a pool. My bill is about $140 per month with APS.
