I have a jacuzzi. The other day i opened it up and there were black dots all allong the walls.?

I think it was either algae or mold, not sure. Does anyone know how to fix this? I already put a solution in it and let it run for an hour, then drained the jacuzzi and scrubed it down with a cleaner. I'm afraid it may be in the pipes or come back when i fill it.

Actually, some of the answers in here are half right. It could actually be either black algae or mould. It all depends on where it is on the wall. If it's underwater, it's gonna be the Arnold Schartzenegger of algae's, the black variety. That stuff can be killed and kept gone with porper sanitizing, but it's a long process to get it all. What you've done so far helps.
If it's above the water line, it's mould. Again, what you've done is good. Here the cause is going to be that cover you have on there, that's ancient and sagging. It's just a source for the mould to start from. Replace the cover and I think you'll find the issue is history.

if its green it's algae which usually floats around in water. mold is dark or gray colors and attatches to moist warm surfaces. clorine or bleach usually gets it out but maybe you need a new filter for your jacuzzi. Or you could call the company who made it to solve the prob

sounds to me like algae... try a little algaecide which will get rid of any mold also..good luck
You have done what I would say is what was needed.

Now I would say just fill it & treat it with the proper chemicals.

Where you buy you chemicals should be able to set you straight on how to maintain it on a regulare basis.
It's Black Algae, your chemicals were off. You did good cleaning it, just refill and keep up on your algaecide treatments, follow a regular schedule and you shouldn't have the problem again.
the black dots are mold, and are caused by water moisture which would be coming from a leak near your tub... good luck
