Burners won't stay lit.?

My pilot light will come on and stay on when the knob is on pilot. However, when I turn the knob to on-the burners any don't light or don't stay lit. When they shift out (within seconds) the pilot light go out too. I do have a remote that go with the logs but enjoy never used it. Switch is set to Remote, Off, or On? I'm assuming it should be off?


Answers:    Try replacing the thermopile. its the sensor that the pilot flame is heat up.
try switching it to on!
