How can I bring in the crawl space below my Manufactured Home more "crawl friendly"?

I own a Manufactured Home on permanent foundation. I hold approximately 18" or less crawl space underneath my home. It's pretty critter-free but I am more concerned about basically the room/space available to maneuver and crawling around on the dirt when I need to do a variety of maintenance below the home. Does anyone have a tip they use for themselves? I don't enjoy the extra $ to hire for maintenance otherwise that would be my first choice.

Answers:    rolling sticky poly vapor barrier is a wonderful view, but could be fairly difficult to install AFTER the reality. pieceing together chunks of plywood or OSB is the best way i've found. i also wear knees pads. i bring a long drop-sheet, and poly for different instances. a tarp have also been used within the past...

i do a rational amount of work under trailers and modular homes, and sadly, there isn't an unproblematic fix to this. whatever you use, receive sure it's THIN, STRONG, and more comfortable than the rocks/dirt below!
this may sound nuts but it works and it is a cheap solution. grasp yourself some refrigerator boxes and put them down in the areas where on earth you need to dance the most. Then where a nylon jacket when you stir under your house. You will be capable of pull yourself around next to your hands by grab the floor joists, and sliding on your fund. the guys at work call it "the poor man's creeper"
